François Cotat Sancerre Monts Damnés 2022
Importers Notes - "From a plot just over 1 hectare in size in Les Monts Damnés, the imposing sweep of vineyards that look down driectly upon Chavignol. This has a deeper tone and pitch than the 'Caillotes' and perhaps a touch more concentration. François's Monts Damnés is clearly the best example of this famous Cru. Reflecting the excellent vintage, this wine is cool and compact, a taut, tightly coiled core of briny minerality; such tension, and exquisite balance. Superb and … more

Francois Millet & Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Le Fourneau 2018
As you drive from Morey in the south there is a small valley at the start of the Gevry appellation where the Combe is, then you rise up on to the plateau. Le Fourneau sits on the right hand side of the road on this plateau. East facing. Same latitude as Clos de Beze. Apparently in the past there was a furnace in the area, people bringing iron to the site to melt hence the name. Le Fourneau means Furnace, … more

Francois Millet & Fils Volnay 1er Cru Les Angles 2018
A new wine from Francois following the inaugural 2017 vintage. 2019 and 2020 are already in barrel to follow this first release. The 'triangle', Francois loves the elegance offered by this 1er Cru. He highlights that 2018 has given a completeness to the terroir without aggressive tannins. East exposition, lots of Limestone near the surface. 'Spicy', 'Oriental', 'Density' just some of the descriptors Francois uses with this vintage. Bottled in May 2020.

Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Mourvedre 2021
Vibrant, translucent ruby in colour. The nose has notes of rose petals, musk and lavender with cranberry, redcurrant, morello cherry, pastrami, sweet spices and terracotta. Though complex, the nose presents as pretty and compact with underlying stoniness, which precisely mimics the first impression in the mouth. There's small red-berry brightness to the medium-bodied palate, and gradually those charcuterie and dry-earth notes emerge with iodine and graphite. Musky, petally perfumes waft over terracotta on a pin-point finish with powdery tannins. An … more

Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Riesling 2022
Sandalwood, preserved citrus, black tea leaves and jasmine seamlessly merge into the more expected Frankland River Riesling characters of lemon zest, green apple skins and chalk. In the mouth, the acidity is like a coiled spring, cushioned by voluminous fruit padding on all sides. This is svelte and streamlined, but it has presence and viscosity, too. There is subtle structural integrity and a spool of lingering flavour through the finish ... what a superb wine. This is generous, but it's … more

Frankland Estate Shiraz 2021
"This is a shiraz of genuine appeal. The mid palate is sweet and ripe but there's a lot flying about the edges. Redcurrant and raspberry meets graphite, black pepper, clove and woodsmoke. It's soft and accessible in general but the finish is curled with just-enough tannin to give it shape and class. Very nice. Very good" Campbell Mattinson, Wine Front

Fromm Pinot Noir 2020 Magnum
After the generous 2019 offering we are again blessed with a truly excellent and very classic Pinot Noir vintage, arguably the best since 2010 in terms of finesse, elegance and varietal purity. The colour is bright with a dark red hue. There is clarity and precision on the nose with ripe yet cool dark fruit aromas, complex and transparent at the same time. Like a racehorse, this wine is all muscle but no fat, subtle power with an elusive lightness, … more

Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino 2017
"The Fuligni 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is a beautiful wine, and it shines a much-deserved spotlight on one of the most consistent estates in Montalcino. It is bright and luminous with a dark ruby shine. The bouquet reveals deeply layered tones of red cherry, wild berry, rose, earth and candied violets. Give the wine an extra twirl or two, and you get some rosemary and lavender. Soft dusty mineral and limestone also appear. I'd definitely put this bottle on a … more

G.D. Vajra Barolo Albe 2019
"The 2019 Barolo Albe is a nuanced, understated wine, but it is also a rare Albe that needs time in bottle. Sweet floral and spice notes open first, leading to an attractive core of Nebbiolo fruit. Gentle and understated, with lovely precision, the 2019 Albe is a hushed wine that is more about energy than size. I have seen the Albe really blossom with a few years in bottle. I expect that will be the case here as well given … more

G.D. Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole 2018
"The 2018 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is finely cut and chiseled, as it so often is. Dried flowers, mint, crushed rocks, pine and red berry fruit all grace this taut, sculpted Barolo. The 2018 has all of the energy of this site, but its signatures are decidedly dialed down. Drink 2026-2043." 93, Antonio Galloni, vinous.com
