During refurbishments to the historic Calle Misericordia in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (home to the La Guita solera), a number of special vessels stood out due to their size and origins. One such vessel was a magnificent tonel gordo (120 arrobas, i.e. a 2,000-litre cask) situated in a corner of the room, separated from the main rows of casks that were standing by the wall. Navazos had this single large cask filled with a selection of the best Amontillados of the … more

This brandy is born of the finest spirits or ‘holandas’ that were double-distilled in stills in the French style at 72% alc. Almost twenty years old, it has spent the first twelve in new Limousin oak butts and the remaining six or seven in dry oloroso butts. One of the latter has been selected and bottled by hand in its entirety. La Bota de Brandy de Jerez 64 'Bota NO' is a refined and stylish spirit that displays its true … more

Pérez Barquero, D.O. Montilla-Moriles. A limited release of 3,000 bottles (for the world), this P.X. is a nod to the past when Pedro Ximénez was often a vintage wine and released young without extended ageing, nor the resulting rancio characters that such maturation brings. This wine comes from late-harvested P.X. grapes from one of Montilla's best vineyards. Fortification is carried out only with top-quality, wine-based spirits. After 18 months resting in the traditional, large, cone-shaped 'amphora' of the type used … more

"No doubt about the variety here! Ice-cold pear and mineral characters, touched with a hint of exotic spice and honeydew melon. Tight white stone fruits and river pebbles on the palate with a textural mouthfeel and just a touch of phenolic grip." - Primavera Selections

The Bico Amarelo is all crisp and crunch, as good vinho verde should be. A blend of Alvarinho (aka Albarino), Loureiro and Avesso, expect fragrant white florals up front, and cucumber water freshness. In the glass, it will open to reveal pretty tropical scents of guava and fresh pineapple and a deliciously creamy finish that makes this a wonderfully versatile wine to pair with food.

The Paquet family domaine was created in 1980 with transition in 2016 to the 3 sons who began conversion to organics. Macon makes some of the most approachable, delicious Burgundies that do not require too much patience to enjoy. Expect lively, vibrant flavours of grapefruit, honeysuckle, acacia & white roses work well with salty starters (nuts, olives) but goes equally well poultry & risotto for example - a perfect all-rounder.

A wine for those who like their Chardonnay rich, lush and textural. This wine shows those riper characters of peach, honeycomb and butterscotch with hints of nougat and crushed cashew. Although it's a richer style it still retains a level of freshness which give the wine a clean dry finish.

Producer Notes - "A vivid nose of deep florals: dark roses, violets, and an undertow of ripe red fruit. The palate really shows the best of each vineyard that makes up the cuvée. A pure but powerful drive of fruit on a perfect cusp of ripeness, with complexing notes of sandalwood and spice. This is all about harmony and balance with the transparency of fruit allowing the detail to shine through. Silken tannins finish the package. "
