From winemaker Dave Mackintosh comes this top notch Grigio from the Yarra. Dave tells us he deliberately named it Grigio over Gris, for its moreish, dry palate and mouth-watering acidity. Think green pears, fennel fronds, red apple skin and a touch of cinnamon toast. Superb!
Country: Australia
Region: Yarra Valley
90% Pinot Noir & 10% Gamay.
Coming from old vines with low yield, this full-bodied wine is characterized by a high phenolic concentration. Its colour is a dark ruby, tending towards black. The nose presents floral and black fruit aromas. It has a beautiful energy on the palate, marked by powerful black fruit flavours (blackberries, blackcurrants) at the attack. In the finish, there is a harmony of fine tannins balanced by beautiful acidity.
40 year old vines are grown in Oimbra on a mix of sand, schist and silty-clay soils. The Godello is de-stemmed, cold macerated for a few hours and fermented cool and quiet in stainless steel. A lively golden yellow and nice and bright in the glass, Minius smells clearly of Monterrei's granitic sand soils and the golden orchard fruits one expects from Godello. There are hints of fennel, citrus and subtle florals too, and the palate is a beautifully balanced … more
Giovanni Bortoluzzi's first career as a consultant winemaker and bottler in Friuli gave him inside knowledge of the region, leading him to the gravelly, mineral-enriched deposit of the diverted Isonzo River that would become Bortoluzzi's first vineyard. The Pinot Grigio that grows there exudes lush floral fruit and is both mellow and fresh at the same time with notes of spring flowers and considerable weight and style at a great price point.

Winery Notes " On the Nose, Lime Brulé, citrus blossom and lemon zest. Time on lees has left aromas of rolled oats, spruce timber and sourdough. Palate, Prim acidity provides structure throughout the length of the palate. Time maturing on yeast lees from fermentation gives the illusion of the wine being riper than it is and helps balance the acidity that will be its hallmark of the long cool year 2023 vintage. Will age well over the next 5 -7 … more
A delicious alternative to alcoholic gin, Diamonds blend is zesty and floral. Leading with notes of native desert lime, finger lime, mandarin and lemon, it is perfectly balanced by savoury sage, juniper and angelica root. Best enjoyed with tonic to release the layers of citrus and floral aromas, and also acts as a strong base for a range of fresh cocktails. With garnishes, get creative with sage, or a wheel of fresh lemon and lime.

This flagship wine is a great introduction to Castle Rock Estate, and their cool, windy eastern hills that reside in the foothills of Mount Barker. Fresh and vibrant, this year's Riesling has got the 'whole lime' classic to WA Riesling - aromatic scents of lime zest, bittersweet pithy texture and mouth-watering lime juice acidity.

Vernaccia is grown widely in Italy, but the best comes from San Gimignano in Tuscany. Crunchy, fresh with lively acidity this is a wonderful refreshing starter, but equally works well with a variety of lighter dishes. Not only is it great drinking, at this price it is a real steal. … more
New-school cool meets old school sensibilities, Chalari can do it all. They focus on classic varieties but made with a fresh eye. Their Shiraz Tempranillo from the Great Southern Western Australia reminds us of a great Rioja, with luscious spice from oak ageing, wrapped around dense forest berry and charred red pepper, a generous finish for a terrific price.

Biodynamic. Half bottle. This classic estate wine is a blend of 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec. The fruit was grown on Peybonhomme's limestone and clay soils of the Premières Côtes de Blaye (on the right bank, overlooking the picturesque Gironde estuary). The wine fermented with indigenous yeasts and then matured mostly in concrete, with 10% fermented and aged in two- to three-year-old oak. The wine was bottled unfiltered.

The eccentric François Boudin directs this 16 ha domaine. The approach here is serious with 100% manual harvesting, no commercial yeasts, no wood and a light filtration. - Burghound
The artisan tradition in Chablis is alive and well at Chantemerle, Francois Boudin's small estate in La Chapelle. I have long admired these mostly stripped down wines for their direct expressions of place. - Antonio Galloni
