Domaine Servin has one of the best value Montee de Tonnerre's of all producers. The vines here are almost 60 years old in some parts, with the youngest in their mid-30s.
Burghound said "export manager Mark Cameron, take on 2019 was "more one of surprise that such a hot and dry vintage could have given us such fresh and relatively classically styled wines. Yes, they are ripe and yes, they do have somewhat elevated alcohol levels and yes, they are … more

Pale in colour, with notes of stone fruit on the nose. On the palate, lemon, grapefruit and white fruit. What pleases us most about this wine is that it has that classic Chablis minerality of crushed oyster shells and flint with a beautiful acid line which seems to be getting harder and harder to find. To us this is really a great quality Chablis with the price tag of Petit Chablis. SublimePale in colour, with notes of stone fruit on … more

The eccentric François Boudin directs this 16 ha domaine. The approach here is serious with 100% manual harvesting, no commercial yeasts, no wood and a light filtration. - Burghound
The artisan tradition in Chablis is alive and well at Chantemerle, Francois Boudin's small estate in La Chapelle. I have long admired these mostly stripped down wines for their direct expressions of place. - Antonio Galloni

Billaud-Simon are one of our favourite Chablis producers here at Rathdowne Cellars. We like them so much because from the bottom to the top of the range, they produce high quality, fruit-driven wines. This one is a peg above entry, it's their AC Chablis.

"Greengage on the nose, smells as if it's curved. A swoop of a wine, that is rounder and richer than the floral Lys, but it still has chiselled grooves of structure and then something that so reminds me of jacaranda flowers on the road after the rain giving it a finish that is an enthralling combination of floral and geosmin mineral. Gentle and with mouth-watering freshness." 17/20 Jancis Robinson

A family-owned Domaine since 1895, today their vines are tended by the young and talented Lilian Duplessis, who took over from his father Gerard in 1999. Gerard Duplessis' village Chablis a blend of four separate 1er cru sites in the Chablis region. Vines range in age from 20 to 60 years, planted atop prized Kimmeridgian soils. "Vauprin" is a vineyard located in the village of Lignorelles (North Western corner of Chablis) and is known for being one of the highest altitude parcels in Chablis.
This particular wine is fermented in stainless steel, but then aged 50% in 2-5 year old barriques and 50% in stainless. Without the oak to "tame" the wine, thios would be one serious searing Chablis! As it is it has wonderful texture, grea mineral drive and excellent Chardonnay fruit aromatics.
