From chef, aperitif enthusiast and co-owner of Embla, Dave Verheul, comes these seasonal vermouths that have taken Melbourne by storm. Made to celebrate each new season's bountiful harvest, producing vermouths that are focused on simpler flavour profiles rather than the heavily spiced styles traditional to Europe. … more
Disributor Notes "This year’s Saison summer vermouth release sees the original aperitif evolve into something new, but still with a nod to its past. Multiple white flower varieties lend their aromatic qualities to this sweet bianco-style vermouth - jasmine, elderflower, white rose and chrysanthemum blossoms - wild picked and organically farmed alongside an infusion of white peaches grown on the outskirts of Melbourne. The base is of Victorian moscato and frontignac, bittered with fresh wormwood and cinchona, and aged in … more
The Loire Valley is home to some of the grandest Sauvignon Blancs on earth - better known as Sancerre and Pouilly Fume. Safe to say, the region knows its way around the grape. Salvard has been making wine here since 1898, highlighting the fresh, textural and supremely saline styles in all their glory.

"Made from the usual three sectors, at a yield of 15-20 hl/ha, with 20% barrel. A slightly paler colour with discreet bouquet. Excellent tension, a pure white apple and fresh pear fruit, really precise here while maintaining complexity, really very persistent. Beautifully mineral finish, really very fine." Drink from 2025-2032. 93-95pts - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.

The 2022 Chianti Classico Riserva Le Baroncole is packed with dark red cherry/plum fruit, new leather, cedar, blood orange and spice. Dense and layered, with superb depth. the 2022 is endowed with real structure. The oak, sometimes a touch intrusive in this bottling, is especially well integrated, reflecting a gradual move towards larger-format wood and a lighter touch overall. Gorgeous. 94, Antonio Galloni
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Le Baròncole (a certified organic wine) shows bright fruit with summer cherry and redcurrant. It offers textural heft and weight. Its Riserva status (with extended aging) is well noted. With time in the glass, it unfolds to leather, potting soil and crushed stone. This vintage does however show a more accessible personality overall (and a powerful 15% alcohol content)." 94, Monica Larner - Wine Advocate

Made from 100% Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo), in the Teglio sub region of Lombardy.
Monica Larner - The Wine Advocate
"With the grape variety recorded as Nebbiolo and its synonym Chiavennasca on the front label, the Sandro Fay 2020 Valtellina Superiore Valgella Costa Bassa offers pretty intensity that gives vertical lift and a direct approach to the bouquet. You get hibiscus and a note of purple fruit or flower, maybe lilac. The mouthfeel is fragile and wispy with a delicate, ethereal quality. … more
