Wnery Notes - "The name Rod & Spur acknowledges the contribution of our growers who spend the cold Barossa winters hand pruning their vines in the traditional rod and spur method. This wine is a return to the great Australian reds of the 1950's and 60's, when Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon blends dominated the premium market. This very Australian blend is not common in other wine regions of the world."

Winery Notes - "The Eden Valley sits high in the Barossa ranges, above the floor of the Barossa Valley. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty punctuated by ancient Red Gums with patches of vines hidden amongst undulating grazing land. Exposed reefs of moss-covered metamorphic rock hint at what lies beneath the soil's surface. Vines growing in this shallow rocky soil produce fine flavoured Riesling with a mineral purity that comes from vine roots pushing through cracks in submerged … more

Blink and you’ll miss Rockford’s Alicante Bouchet – particularly once summer kicks in. It’s to be expected, this fruity-fresh wine that lands somewhere between rosé and chilled red is a classic for good reason. Slightly off dry, expect pink lady apples. raspberry drops and rose petals in every glass.

Rockford's most recent addition to their range.
Made from Cane Cut vines, the grapes are basically left to hang in the sun with their 'cane' cut so that they dry out while still attached to the vine (but not the root system).

Winery Notes - "P.S. Marion Tawny is our small contribution to the Barossa's great tradition of producing outstanding aged fortified wines.
Aging some special components for 15-odd years in small oak casks and large vats has encouraged flavours to slowly concentrate into our rich and luscious Barossa tawny. Next time you visit Rockford Cellar Door, look up to the rafters and you’ll see our barrels of tawny quietly enjoying the warm & airy conditions, perfect for its slow aging process. … more

Winery Notes - "Our fortified Shiraz VP is made from the vintage's last fermenter of fully ripened Shiraz fruit from the Mattschoss family vineyard, planted in 1945 in the Siegersdorf region of the Barossa Valley. It is then fortified with a 19 year old wood aged Brandy spirit.
The VP fortifying is an end of vintage celebration and the ritual tends to draw many staff out of the woodwork to inhale some of the most enticing aromas imaginable.

Rockridge are amongst some of our most reliable producers - having been long time fans on the Riesling and Shiraz from them. Their Pinot Grigio, we were delighted to discover, is no exception! It's a pinot grigio fan's dream, hitting all the hallmarks of crisp green apple and lemon citrus fruit notes, with a refreshingly dry palate and a lovely wash of saline minerality that makes it a dream to pair with food or drink on its own. … more

Louis Roederer make great Champagnes, starting with this one and climbing to the legendary Cristal.
