"There is enough reduction to knock down the fruit at present though the sleek, focused an energetic middle weight flavors possess very good freshness and fine complexity while delivering excellent length on the firmly structured finish where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. This isn't particularly concentrated though with that said, there appears to be enough underlying material to enable the 2018 Clos de la Roche to develop gracefully over many years. 91-94 points" - Allen Meadows, Burghound

"A mix of high-toned essence of red berries with floral and earth scents gives way to sleek and delicious but not especially dense flavours possess an almost delicate mouthfeel, all wrapped in a vibrant and sneaky long finish despite the presence of a slight dryness that's not enough to really compromise the balance. 89-92" - Allen Meadows, Burghound

"Honey and spice aromas give way to a luscious palate, with notes of honey, marzipan, orange and dried apricot. Noticeable sweetness is well balanced with acidity. Though rich, it's not really a dessert wine, and though it would accompany food well, it's probably best appreciated on its own. Delicious now, and should improve through 2010." 91 points, The Wine Spectator

"Drinking the 2020 Clos du Bourg Demi-Sec is like taking your shoes off at the end of a long day of walking and soaking them in warm water: there's just satisfaction and relaxation. The 2020 has a sense of volume but not weight, filling the mouth with depths of pure fruit before the acid pours forth like a canal lock being opened. You can expect a hint of spice and crème caramel alongside apple and florals. I am utterly seduced." … more

Since 1989, the estate has also produced this magical, botrytized dessert wine selected from one, two or all three vineyards. When made, the Cuvée Constance (named for Gaston's mother) ranks among the world's greatest dessert wines. It is a wine of such captivating purity, precision and complexity that it is almost indescribable. Its straw-coloured robe is green with golden hues. The nose titillates the taster's sense of smell with its scents of apricot jam, candied grapefruit, quince, bergamot and flowers. … more

Huet's demi secs typically fall between 18 and 25 g/L residual sugar (give or take a few grams), but the acidity makes the wines appear only just off-dry.
"The 2022 Le Haut-Lieu Demi-Sec is juicy, though never generous, but still a comforting Vouvray that remains focused; there's sufficient tension from the acidity despite the season's warmth. Welcoming and friendly from the off, there's ?ne fruit here with a pretty talc note. It has a sense of persistence and presence that … more

"The 2022 Le Mont Sec is a parcel of Chenin planted on clay with scattered ?int, giving a certain tension to the style you certainly don't ?nd in the come-hither Clos du Bourg. Its supple, concentrated core of fruit sits within a framework of structure. Both acidity and phenolics add tension and sinew. While some natural residual sugar remains (5.5g/L residual sugar), this rounds out the palate and brings balance-it's near-as-dammit dry in its impression and technically dry under Vouvray's … more

Note: from a .71 ha parcel in Les Petits Epenots; Coche purchased 6 barrels
An attractively fresh nose is comprised by notes of both red and dark currant, earth and a whiff of oak. The medium weight flavors possess reasonably good underlying tension and complexity though the finish, while reasonably persistent, is slightly drying. There are aspects to admire but it would be fair to say that the balance isn't quite completely dialed in. In sum, this is good but … more
