This wine is showing superbly, bursting with aromas of cherries, wild berries, subtle soil tones and savoury nuance. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's satiny-textured and beautifully lively, framed by powdery tannins and bright acids.

90% Pinot Noir & 10% Gamay.
Coming from old vines with low yield, this full-bodied wine is characterized by a high phenolic concentration. Its colour is a dark ruby, tending towards black. The nose presents floral and black fruit aromas. It has a beautiful energy on the palate, marked by powerful black fruit flavours (blackberries, blackcurrants) at the attack. In the finish, there is a harmony of fine tannins balanced by beautiful acidity.

This comes mainly from a well-situated 0.6-hectare parcel of 35-year-old vines planted on a northeast-facing hillside just south of Chassagne. There is also a little Chassagne village fruit in the blend. The fruit is hand-picked, pressed and left to settle. It naturally ferments on lees for 12 months in small stainless-steel vats and older barrels. The wine is then blended and settled for a further six months in tank before bottling. This has always been a lovely drink, but today, … more

Located in the quiet village of Couchey in the Cote de Nuits. This fourth-generation Domaine is run by father and son Philippe & Johann Robert. Traditional Burgundy, long-lived, full of colour and concentration. Whilst not owning any 1er or Grand cru vines, it does have a fine range of holdings in Marsannay & Fixin. As a side note, the Robert family is closely related to the famous Rousseau family which is based in a village over in Gevrey-Chambertin. However, this … more

Tucked away behind the hill of Corton at 350m altitude in the lieu-dit 'La Grande Corvee de Bully.' Marly limestone soils and a shallow top layer push the vine roots down to tap into the minerally subsoils. A very pinot-like nose combines notes of red cherry with those of earth and a whiff of crushed fennel. The supple, round and delicious middleweight flavors offer good energy that continues onto the mildly austere and rustic finish that leans out slightly as … more

The 2018 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, which comes from vines within Nuits Saint-Georges, has a glorious bouquet for a generic red Burgundy, featuring brambly red fruit; maraschino cherries develop with time. The palate is medium-bodied, the 10% new oak lending a little weight on the midpalate, and there is fine definition and length on the finish. This comes highly recommended.

Importers Notes - "This looks great in 2022! A heady mix of red and black cherry, some ground sweet spice and bit of black pepper, savoury elements winking at you behind the plush fruit profile. Lovely drive of fruit that rushes your palate slowly fading away revealing a little savoury goodness in some darker spice and fresh crushed herb notes. A great combo of freshness, soft juicy fruits and fine boned structural elements woven in."

A blend of Petit Chablis and Maconnais grapes.
"An attractively floral nose speaks of pear liqueur and enough Chablis character to be persuasive. The delicious, succulent and rounded middleweight flavours possess unusually good volume for a wine at this level allied with fine punch that carries over to the refreshingly dry finish. This offers solid quality for its level in a package that should afford early drinkability." Allen Meadows, Burghound.

This is the first release from a new vineyard planted in the Pommard lieu-dit La Taupe, right next to the domaine's Pommard Perrières. Destemmed and very gently extracted, it's a bright juicy Bourgogne that's already delicious. An exciting addition to the range!
"The Bourgogne rouge from Théo Dancer is a new wine in the Winehog's glass. It's a delightful, vivid glass with plenty of energy. This is delicate and quite intense, and thankfully not too extracted for the vintage. A … more
