"A blend of 63/16/10/7/4% cabernet sauvignon/merlot/petit verdot/malbec/cabernet franc. That's two great back-to-back vintages for this Yarra Valley and Australian classic. Bright crimson purple. A wonderful bouquet of perfectly ripened black cherries, blackcurrants, cedar (from the already integrated oak) and lavender. With its core of dark fruits and impeccably balanced, fully ripe yet silky tannins, this complex and harmonious wine is destined to join the ranks of the very best Yeringbergs." 98 points. Just the third straight cabernet made, and from grapes planted in '99. A deepish bright crimson purple. A touch more closed than the Yeringberg blend, but still with a lovely core of dark fruits, together with cedar, violets and a hint of iodine on the perfumed and captivating bouquet. The medium-bodied and firmly structured palate is beautifully balanced but with those, firm, fine-grained tannins, this will require some patience to fulfil its potential. 97 points. A combination of natural and inoculated ferments, then racked to 25% new oak with 25% mlf. A bright green gold. Attractive scents of ripe stone fruits, lemon confiture, honey and hazelnuts that are echoed on the flavourful, silky, gently viscous and long palate. At the more hedonistic end of the Yarra chardonnay spectrum and a delicious wine to drink now and over the next three to five years. 93 points. Philip Rich, Wine Companion Aug 2024

"Marsanne 59%, Roussanne 41%. One of our favourites, the 2018 white blend continues a tradition of savoury depth and subtlety. Its youthful delicacy unfurls progressively with time, revealing layers of texture, flavour and nuance that offer fascinating drinking. Opening gently, the nose has aromas of jasmine, honeysuckle, pear and fennel. On the palate there's a wonderful tension between the breadth of the fruit, the restrained pear skin-driven texture and the citrusy, quincy line of acidity that drives the wine effortlessly … more

"The Pinot has a complexity, poise and depth which drinks effortlessly today and promises a wonderful future. Pure, elegant aromas of raspberry, rose petal and cherry are interlaced with sappy, spicy notes. The palate is similarly bright, savoury and refined, while also offering serious plummy depth, velvety structure, cool spicy volume and a long & evolving finish that slowly unfurls with time in the glass. A serious vintage to enjoy throughout the next decade." - Sandra de Pury

Shiraz 97%, Viognier 3%. The 2019 Shiraz demonstrates again that our part of the Yarra can produce wonderfully spicy, elegant and age-worthy Shiraz. An energetic array of blueberry, white pepper, and bay leaf aromas leap from the glass, followed by Moroccan spice notes, liquorice and dark cherry. The palate has brightness and energy as well as a beguiling subtle, savoury depth. The fruit rides on the back of a powerful yet perfectly pitched tannic framework that provides wonderful drive, and … more

"Our Shiraz (with the usual splash of Viognier) is a wine that continues to demonstrate the affinity of the variety with the Yarra Valley. From the outset, the nose offers a lively, lifted array of aromas - blueberry, violet, black pepper, liquorice and bay leaf. The palate, fresh and energetic, is both perfumed and delicate but then also supple, fleshy and generous. The underlying depth and savoury, structured richness that drives the finish is quietly there now, and over the … more

"Barrel fermented and matured for 10 months in large-format oak. A bright green gold. A hedonistic bouquet of ripe nectarines and apricots together with glacé ginger and honey. Textured but not overdone on the palate, which is gently saline and very nicely balanced. It's delicious now, but this has enough of everything to still be looking good three to four years from now too. A truly lovely example." 96 points. Philip Rich, Wine Companion Aug 2024

Twin-Pack.
This work wonders on wines rich in structure and fruit concentration and for wines high in tannin. Broader-based than most 'Bordeaux' glass styles its unique design accentuates and brings harmony to a wine's potency, concentration, extract and tannins. While is comes particularly recommended for Bordeaux, Brunello di Montalcino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz etc, it actually works brilliantly with Nebbiolo and Pinot, too. Don't let the name fool you into thinking this is a one-dimensional stem.
Twin Pack.
The wide bowl in this glass gives maximum surface area, allowing the different components of the wine to open up and 'show' with great precision. Particularly good for enhancing the sweeter, fruit characteristics of a wine. As the name suggests, this is recommended for: Pinot Noir/Burgundy, but also Nebbiolo, Barbera, Chardonnay and Grüner Veltliner.
Height:248mm/Volume: 820ml.The carafes are designed for white wines, lighter bodied reds and water or non-alcoholic drinks. They allow for the optimal development of flavour and finesse of service. Well suited to store in the refrigerator, they are elegant enough for any table.
While, some glassware manufacturers seem intent on steering decanter design into the realm of flamboyant objets d'art, Zalto craft only two, function-over-form designs. They both look and handle with style but more importantly; they are practical and just work brilliantly. The Axium is the smaller of the two and is designed for medium-bodied red wines and medium to full-bodied white wines.
