Renowned for their title as the oldest Barsac-Sauternes estate, Château-Coutet upholds a legacy of excellent sweet wines made in this iconic region. The modern styles are almost entirely Sémillon, with 2-3% made up of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. However museum releases, such as this 1996 bottling, are typically closer to 2:1 Sémillon to Sauvignon and Muscadelle. For that reason, there is often more exuberance and exotic fruit, even at 30 years old.
