Syrahmi 'La La' Heathcote Syrah 2017

"I must tell you, these Syrahmi wines have been on my radar to taste, and they have been one of the delightful finds of 2023. Detailed, ductile, delicate and decidedly delicious, these are wines of place and wines of heart. The artwork on the label of the 2017 La La is by Nunzio Miano. Notes of clove, liquorice, star anise, fine and crushed rocks, charcoal, graphite, black, black, black, with inflections of brown. There's also fresh, dark chocolate and tobacco, within a fine frame. It's savory. This comes from a cool vintage, with 100% whole bunch and 100% new oak. It has chewy tannins and is super elegant. I tasted bottle 27 out of 696. 13.6% alcohol.
