Melon d'Arbois, the local name for Chardonnay, is a clone that has been cultivated in Jura reportedly as far back as the 10th century, thriving in the chalky limestone soils comprised largely of the marine fossil gryphées. There's a floral lilt and softness of fruit unlike clones found elsewhere, that is complemented nicely by the chalkiness found in the wines. Domaine Rolet Arbois Vin Jaune 2014 375ml
'Jura is known for these rare wines called "Vin Jaune" made of 100% Savagnin grape variety. The wine is left in barrels for 60 months minimum, the wine is aged under flor which we call in french 'sous-voile'. These wines are hard to make therefore, in a smaller bottle (375ml) and are usually enjoyed with winter dishes ; veal in a rich creamy morel sauce, or the local Jura cheese 'Comté'. - Suppliers notes

Domaine Rolet L'etoile Chardonnay 2020
While this is made with 100% Chardonnay, it is really quite a bit different that most French Chardonnay (ie Chablis/Buegundy).
The Jura region is most famous for oxidized, Sherry-like, wines called Vin Jaune. Which to some might not sound enticeing, but this isn't that style.
It's fresh as a daisy with vibrant white orchard fruit and a layered perfume of fresh flowers and toasted hazelnuts. Vibrant, almost nervy, acids give this lift and length you have to taste to believe.
