It’s no secret that our climate is changing, with our farmers on the ground heralding more change to come. For the grape growing industry, this has been a source of concern for several decades, leading many producers to seek security in the form of hardier vines.
Italian varieties like Nebbiolo, Sangiovese and Fiano have been adopted widely, but there’s a whole world of exciting native grapes in Italy that are showing great promise for our local guys. We’ll have wines from SC Pannell, Ben Glaetzer’s Heartland and Chalmers this weekend, featuring exciting varieties like Lagrein, Negroamaro, Nero d’Avola and Montepulciano.
