It’s the foolish drinker who bases their opinion of a wine solely on it’s label, but we’d be lying if we said it didn’t factor in at all. Thankfully, iconic Chablis domaine, William Fèvre, has launched new labels to great success - no need to hide your 2023s at the back of the cellar, away from view.
Even so, a good stint in the cellar will agree with this release. Dense and rich, their upfront charm is making way for finesse and elegance as they rest in bottle. Director of Domaine William Fevre, Didier Séguier, said of the vintage “2023 is rich and mature, but with salinity and minerality. Not a cool vintage, but the freshness gets better and better. The yields were not incredible. We have concentration.”
