"Derthona" is the designation used for premium, 100% Timorasso white wines produced in the Colli Tortonesi DOC in southeastern Piedmont, Italy. The name derives from the ancient Latin name for the city of Tortona.
Viberti's example displays fragrant white peach & white florals, with a citrus and mineral on the palate. It's also just starting to show some hints of development, bringing forward toasty, honeyed notes, somwhat reminiscent of ageing Riesling or Semillon.
