Producer Notes
This wine is from the original planting of MV6 Pinot Noir, plus a proportion of newer plantings of 848, MV6, 943 and Pommard clone. We added about 30% whole bunch in the ferments in 2024, which has given the wine quite a punchy and fragrant aroma, that evolves nicely as the wine sits in the glass. It was aged in 500 litre French oak puncheons, on lees for 11 months. 25% new Tronacis oak.
97 Points - Phillip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion
25% whole bunches and matured in 500L French oak casks (25% new). A medium-bright crimson ruby. In contrast to the more delicate, fragrant Nenagh Park Pinot, Serrat's home block has produced a wine with aromas of black cherry, blood orange, rosebush and graphite. The palate is medium bodied, concentrated and with chiselled tannins that augur well for anyone who still has a bottle or three in their cellar eight to 10 years from now.
