Pierre-Yves, son of Marc Colin, has very much gone his own way, adding carefully to his own vineyards with a small roster of hand-picked growers from whom he buys. His deep cold cave enables him to bottle late without filtration, and the wine remains largely undisturbed throughout the winemaking process. The texture of the Chassagne is outstanding, matching the core of fruit. This is an exceptional Chardonnay. Smoke and struck match are paired with juicy lemons and blanched almonds, a robust nose alongside a dense palate and mouth-watering acidity.
