The inaugural release of Oraterra, by winemaker Wilco Lam. Originally making his name at Martinborough stalwart Dry River, he started Oraterra to indulge his creative streak and push Martinborough Pinot to new heights. Leaving behind some of the classic hallmarks, they've aimed for a less dense fruit profile, seeking structure and refinement. The inaugural release is a fine boned Pinot, showing the cooler elements of the vintage, with high-toned cranberry and floral notes. In time, it will unfurl into an elegant Pinot Noir, showing a touch tight and restrained in its youth.
