Thierry Fournier 'Reserve' NV 375ml

Located in the village of Festigny in the west of the Valle de la Marne. Festigny has been described by Champagne guru Peter Liem as 'The Corton of Champagne' the argilo calcaire (clay over limestone) also feature a high proportion of chalk which helps ensure the wines are rich and juicy as well as focused and energetic.

Importers Notes - "The layered and textured Pinot Meunier dominant 'Reserve Brut' is described by Julien and Justine as a 'photograph' of the domaine. Our first shipment is based on the 2016 harvest and features 80% Pinot Meunier, 10% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir (the planting proportions of the vineyards) as well as 40% reserve wines, coming primarily from the previous 2 harvests. Tiraged in 2017, the wine was disgorged in May 2023 having spent the best part of 5 years on lees.

'The first thing that strikes me is the beautiful balance this wine exhibits. It's fresh but it's powerful at the same time, with fleshy white-stone fruit notes, brioche and biscuit accents.
