Weingut Jülg Spätburgunder Schweigen 2020

This pinot shows the benefits of Jonannes' father Werner's ground-breaking work in concentrating on dry pinots (other vignerons used to think that he was crazy!) and also the work selecting old vine genetic material (from Burgundy mostly) to plant in the family plots. His passion for pinot has rubbed off on Johannes and these are now great wines, this one from sites on the German side of the border, mostly with limestone rock. It's a full flavoured and deeply flavoured, yet silky and mouthfilling and long. Impressive!
