From Blewitt Springs on the north-eastern fringes of McLaren Vale on 85 year old vines comes this exceptional example of the combination of both power and poise that McLaren Vale Shiraz is known for. The palate leads with ripe figs, brambles, then cassis, there is a gamey smokiness leading into the finish, which ends on notes of star anise and black pepper. The 2023 vintage was cooler for McLaren Vale which benefited shiraz, resulting in a rich and powerful wine with nothing out of proportion. Drink now or age for up to 20 years.
