Kopke makes their Fine Tawny from hand-harvested grapes, plucked from the vinha ao alto - vertically planted vines. Each berry bursting with flavour, they are crushed, fermented and aged slowly over the course of three years before bottling. At this point there still remains elements of primary fruit, dark plum and berry notes, which interplay with young Tawny characters of orange peel, cardamom, honeyed figs and French vanilla bean.
