Hochkirch are biodynamic pioneers in Australia, more specifically, just oustide of Hamilton. They provide a beacon for aspiring natural winemakers, focusing on expressions born from clean, chemical-free viticulture. As often occurs with biodynamically tended fruit, the terroir and sense of self in the wine is absolutely singing. Dark blackberry and violet notes, with woody herbs and a graphite edge. Stylistically, it gives a gentle nod to the Syrah of Northern Rhône, but it's core is all Henty.
