Retaining the signature powerhouse intensity of all great Amarone, it steers clear of the big, hot, heavy notes that clumsy apassimento can create and instead holds onto freshness and savouriness. The palate opens with black cherry and fruit compote, with cocoa powder tannins and a lingering spice to the finish, reminiscent of Chinese five spice and graphite.
