Pelverga is one of Piedmont's lesser known varieties, oft overlooked in favour of the more renowned Nebbiolo. Your guess is as good as ours as to why, given it is equally capable of yielding the elegant florals and dark savoury notes prized in Nebbiolo. Diego Morra's Pelaverga sits on the darker-fruited end of the spectrum; violets, rose petals and blood plums, with a whiff of freshly cracked black pepper.
