"Formally known as 'Young Vines' Riesling. The fruit for this wine is sourced from a block planted in 2001. While the very top of this block is an ironstone-rich, gravelly ridge, much of the block shows a prevalence towards a rich, loam dominant soil over limestone footing, that yields an expression quite different to our original blocks.They also lean towards a more dominantly fruit driven front and mid palate.
The 2025 has a dry mineral, stone-like quality to this wine. Wonderfully concentrated, with oatmeal, mandarin oil and generous fruit - think white nectarine and ripe, green melon. Undertones of Elderflower. There is a beautiful, even palate, complimenting fruit and acidity, emboldened by complexity of time on lees and lightened by gentle acid balance. An easy mouthfeel and a joy to drink".
