Established by the Lloyd family in 1969, Coriole have been a pioneer of Italian grape varieties in Australia since the 80’s. The Negroamaro of Puglia are big and bold, but this medium weighted expression screams cherry, cranberry and plum skin with fine dusty tannins. Drink now!

Another beautifully medium-weighted negroamaro. That’s not a sentence you hear often. This is a world away from the often opaque, craggy and warm-throated wines from Puglia. That said, this is Italianate in its heady but savoury perfume. Pale in the glass. Redolent of dried cherry and cranberry, plum skin, pressed wildflowers, fennel pollen, star anise, warm terracotta and caraway. The palate is gently but persistently tannic, edging down from mid-weight. Such a beautifully thoughtful and engaging expression of the variety. A delight.
