Corvina is best known for its main blending component in Valpolicella and is arguably the Venetos most regarded red grape variety. Almost always blended, this example of straight Corvina is quite unique and unlike the lighter finer styles of Valpolicella, the Castelnuovo Corvina is a darker and juicier, with plush dark cherry, red plum and hints of almond. The abbreviation Ca’ Vegar refers to Cantina Veronese del Garda, and now represents the purest expression of the wines typical of the Veronese area.
