Distributor notes 'The Macon Villages is sourced from a blend of several clay/limestone parcels situated in the communes of Uchizy, Viré , Chardonnay and Bussières. Depending on the parcel, the vineyards have easterly or southern exposures with varying altitudes of around 200 metres. The soils are well structured, deep clay over a hard limestone sub-soil. The Macon Villages is vinified in large foudres. After fermentation, the wine ages on its fine lees for six months before racking and preparation for bottling.'
