Amaro dell'Etna has its roots on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily where a little over two dozen herbs, spices and aromatic plants grow. It embodies the volcanic and somewhat mineral nature of Sicilian soil and the ingredients local to there. Even now, after over 100 years, they still follow the original recipe and traditional approaches to production.
It contains no preservatives or artificial colouring agents and has a dark intense flavour thanks to the two-month infusion of herbs and spices and the addition of only sugar and pure spirit, but the true heroes are the Sicilian oranges - along with the peel - that add refreshing notes.
Due to its balance, Amaro dell'Etna has a broader application and also works beautifully as an aperitif with ice, soda and a slice of orange.
