This Sherry hails from from "el Puerto de Santa Maria", and is called Fino del Puerto. Puerto de Santa Maria is down the coast from Sanlucar, roughly level with Jerez and faces Cadiz across an estuary bay. Gutierrez Colosia are one of the only remaining producers of authentic Fino del Puerto. The wine is lovely - pretty well a mid-point between Manzanilla and Jerez Finos in style. Coastal, but less overtly briny than Manzanilla. Delicately earthy with constrained power, like a baby Jerez wine.
