"With the grape variety recorded as Nebbiolo and its synonym Chiavennasca on the front label, the Sandro Fay 2020 Valtellina Superiore Valgella Costa Bassa offers pretty intensity that gives vertical lift and a direct approach to the bouquet. You get hibiscus and a note of purple fruit or flower, maybe lilac. The mouthfeel is fragile and wispy with a delicate, ethereal quality. There is a mineral, salty-like note as well at the tail end of this long-lasting wine.
