The Kooyong vineyard itself was first established in 1995, with some 30 hectares planted to a mixture of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Kooyong Estate Chardonnay comprises fruit from the Faultline and Farrago blocks. It offers an overall expression of the Kooyong vineyard, with parcels of fruit from various soils and mesoclimates blended together to create the Estate label. Straight down the line. Stonefruit, ginger, a clip of sweet/spicy oak, flecks of funk and flint. It delivers what you came for and then offers a fraction more. Texture, flavour and just enough interest.
