De la Bêche

De la Bêche (Of the Spade) takes inspiration from Burgundian principals, planting at around 15,000 vines per hectare, utilising Poussard pruning and organic farming practices. Their property sits atop a fascinating mixture of soils - quartz, ironstone and shale over an anxien Ordovician marine turbidite bedrock - all which contribute to the identity of the wines. Their label, an artwork by Henry de la Bêche, ties their interest in the geological origins of the land with the practices that form the basis of their grape growing and winemaking.
