Located 50kms inland from the Southern Ocean, Crawford River was one of the very first to put down roots in what is now the GI of Henty. Founders John and Catherine Thomson first planted Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon at the site in 1975, two varieties that remain at the heart of the estate's repertoire. Now helmed by their daughter, Belinda Thomson, the vineyard has expanded to include Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Cabernet Franc. Their estate wines are well-established as some of Australia's finest, particularly the Riesling which is highly sought after from vintage to vintage.
