Confusingly enough, this wine is mostly Pineau d’Aunis - not a Pinot - and made on the banks of the Loir River - not the Loire River. Don’t let the wine’s incongruent nature put you off though, it’s fragrant like a Gamay, savoury like a Pinot Noir and fragrant like a Cab Franc nouveau. Simply put, delicious.
