A great value, modern wine from the McLaren Vale. Ministry of Clouds' blend of Tempranillo and Grenache has a bit of something for everyone. The Tempranillo gives juicy, high toned fruit and heady spice notes of clove and all spice, while the grenache fills the mid-palate with sumptuous, mouth-watering fruit character.
Producer Notes: "originally designed to be our joven style red, with minimal oak input and a juicy, soft palate. However, we ended up with something altogether more serious than we were expecting. Being 52% Blewitt Springs and Sellicks Hill Tempranillo all dry grown, and blended with Grenache fruit sourced from a 55 yr plus bush vine vineyard on Strout rd McLaren Flat, the resulting wine had altogether more fine boned structure than we were aiming for. But we loved it. As with all the reds, de-stemmed with approx 70-80% of whole berries retained, all parcels kept separate, pre-fermentation cold soaks, and fermented in open fermenters with daily hand plunge. 10 months in 3-5 year old french oak barriques, and 2 months in stainless before bottling."
