A 100% rye made in Brunswick, Melbourne from all-Australian grain grown in the Mallee, but this latest expression is fashioned on American straight rye whiskey and fully satisfies regulations governing the style. It's rich and grain-focussed; butterred dark rye bread, cocoa, hints of muddled mint and spices build over deeper oak sugars. Beautifully controlled, and with serious length and staying power. The finish offers hints of apple mint, wood spice and a pleasing charry astringency. It's an essay in understatement and elegance for the genre - and dangerously drinkable.
