Curly Flat Estate Pinot Noir 2022
"Our 2022 Estate Pinot Noir consists of eleven separate lots representing distinct aspects, clones and soils. Each of these parcels were handled with attention to vineyard details with the aim of maximising site expression. Indigenous yeasts connect all ferments but varying amounts of whole bunch, post ferment skin contact and individual oak handling were utilised respective to the lot characters themselves. Each of these parcels combine to form our most complex Pinot Noir, with fragrant spices and a red fruit … more

Daniel Bouland Beaujolais Morgon "Corcelette" Vieilles Vignes Sable 2022 Magnum
One of three site-specific wines from Corcelette, this cuvée is drawn from old vines on granitic sand soils (sable means sand). The vines were planted in 1926, so it's truly a Vieilles Vignes cuvée. It is the sister wine, if you like, to the Cailloux (rocky) cuvée. Unsurprisingly, Bouland's gnarled old trunks have over-delivered again. Raised in an old foudre, it's a layered, inky, mouthcoating Morgon of wonderful finesse, finishing with intense mineral character and a nip of old vine … more

Daniel Bouland Beaujolais Morgon "Délys" 2022 Magnum
The lieu-dit Les Délys is part of the Corcelette climat located downslope from Bellevue and right behind Bouland's residence and winery-it's his back garden if you like. Again, Bouland splits his vines into two cuvées: an old-vine cuvée raised in foudre and this younger-vine version raised in concrete. The vines were planted in 1978 and 1980 in the deep granitic sand typical of Les Délys, which brings roundness and Burgundy-like texture to the wines. It's the most detailed and refined … more

Daniel Gomez Jimenez-Landi Las Uvas de la Ira Garnacha 2020
'Las Uvas de la Ira' translates as 'The Grapes of Wrath,' a title borrowed from John Steinbeck's classic novel. As the literary reference hints at, Dani's wines are cerebral, beautiful to drink, but framed by the winemaker's engagement with the agricultural history of his homeland.
Las Uvas de la Ira is the village wine of San Vicente, a town in the Valle del Tietar subzone of the Sierra de Gredos, although using the 'village' probably undersells the calibre of the … more

Darling Distillery Gin 700ml
As local as one could ask, with the distillery a mere 2km away from us in the old Royal Hotel in Clifton Hill... how could we say no!
Layers of bright citrus from fragrant orange, mandarin and native myrtle melt into the warmth of Tasmanian pepperberry and the heady spice of coriander and lemongrass. Earthy undertones of fresh picked rosemary and green tea are rounded by lashings of local rooftop honey and freshly churned butter.

Darroze Monturon Grand Bas Armagnac 1990 44.5% 700ml
Gold color, amber tints. The first nose is fruity (quince, figs, prune), then appear aromas of fine spices (gingerbread, vanilla, cinnamon) and slightly herbal and floral aromas (linden, dried hay). Very fine and delicate. In the palate, the tannins in attack are very silky. We find this fruitiness with fine and powerful spices. Long in the palate.
