"The 2022 Chardonnay is bright and very pale with hints of nectarine, citrus & cashew on the nose. A full-bodied, full flavoured wine with grapefruit, white peach and lemon peel on the palate. It has plenty of energy to drink now and will also cellar well. Enjoy!" - Winery Notes
"Strong winds off the cool Southern Ocean may well help to keep vines and wines fresh. If Craiglee Shiraz is extra-fine, the Chardonnay is rather idiosyncratic (and so is the … more
'I’d have Craiglee on my list of Australia’s best Shiraz for sure, except they’re such quiet achievers, you might forget to add them.
Blackberry, boysenberry, spicy biscuits, a dash of pepper, white flowers. It’s medium-bodied, fresh mixed berries (raspberry in particular), distinctly minerally acidity gives it a water-coloured texure, then comes a bold smudge of fine graphite tannin to underline. Has a wonderful transparency, though it does have depth of fruit to go. Finish is well-defined, savoury/spicy, and very clean … more
Craiglee Shiraz JADV (Just A Dash of Viognier) is produced from entirely Estate grown fruit. The shiraz is from the Old block as well as 20 year old Eadie's block and is co-fermented with less than 3% viognier. All the hall marks of Craiglee Shiraz with an added bonus of viognier.
"Luminous deep purple/crimson colour. Floral - mixed spices, dark cherry and blackberry; whisper of iodine and juniper. Palate is turbo-charged. Cloves, pepper, dark fruits, iron. Fresh, slinky, grown-up wine … more
Shiraz stalwart and long time favourite at the Cellars, Craiglee, has once again excelled with their latest release of Sparkling Red. A base wine of their 2019 estate Shiraz, the wine undergoes the methode traditionelle with the intent to produce a lighter, drier style of Sparkling Red. Gamey and supple in mouthfeel, this wine is a standard-bearer for the style.
"A winery with a proud 19th-century record, Craiglee recommenced winemaking in 1976 after a prolonged hiatus. Produces one of the … more

"If Pat Carmody can't make great shiraz, then we should all shut up shop. He's only been doing so at Craiglee for, oh, about 40-plus years. There's a DNA imprint to this, with a whorl of dark fruit, warm spices shot through, cedary oak and wafts of red roses. Very savoury … more
60% Sauvignon Blanc & 40% Semillon
Producer notes - "100% Whole bunch pressed by variety, then racked the next day to barrel. No additions are made to this juice which is left to naturally ferment in its own time. It spends around 11 months in majority older oak, after which it is blended to tank where it spends another 6 months settling. Screw Cap. Bottled September 2016."
Winemakers notes - "Pale straw in colour, with undertones of the same on … more

Approx 50/50 Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon. From a special section within the Crawford River site that contains fossilised sea shells in chalky limestone, below an ironstone rich topsoil.
"A poised amalgam of cashew nut, green melon, green walnut, flint and chalk. Deep florals play around the edges of the front palate. The time on lees lends a silky palate, with texture and gentle structure. Bright and fresh, the acidity is an essential part of the length, persistence and longevity of this … more

Producer Notes '2008 was a very long growing season, but also a warm, dry season. As a result, the wines were quite rich stylistically, with wonderful generosity of fruit and terrific concentration.
Blackcurrant, black cherry and cedar combine with edges of black olive to present a magnificent, aged release wine. The concentrated fruit profile leans to black, rather than red fruit, with an elegant, fine palate providing integrated, highly quality French oak. There is liquorice root and baked blood plum, … more

Winery Notes "Blackberry, mulberry, dark chocolate and edges of black cherry. The focussed palate shows liquorice notes, gorgeous oak and black fruits, with fine tannins pulling a line from start to finish. There is a graphite component through the middle, together with a red gravel complexity, which conspire to add depth and density. Balance is key, with the natural acidity aiding the persistence and complimenting the depth we aspire to in our best wines." The wine spent 22 months in … more

"This is not a big, bold Cabernet Sauvignon as you may traditionally expect a 'Reserve' wine to be. Like our Reserve Riesling it is, first and foremost, a special vineyard selection, curated and cared for in the winery to highlight the fruit tannins and natural acidity.
Making a 'first of a kind' is always a bit of an unknown - even if your vision is really clear. I couldn't be happier with the eventuality. It depicts and defines what I … more

"Bright in the glass, the calciferous nature of the soils on which this wine grows is unmistakably evident. Lemon curd, custard apple, lime and an omnipresent shell-like character are all there. Clean definition through the palate provides depth of flavour, balance and an underlying power throughout. There is freshness here too, which in a 7 year old wine is a pleasure to see. The wonderful palate length is aided by … more

Producer Notes - "This wine is still young and tightly coiled, showing delicate poise and huge promise. Talc and powdery chalk drive the front palate, together with edges of white florals and apple blossom that will surely evolve with time. Fruit weight lends power alongside elegance through the palate, with minerality and textural definition from start to finish. Pure, steely and fine, if drinking upon release, we recommend decanting. A stunning vintage. - Belinda Thomson, winemaker."
