Domaine Louis Boillot et Fils Volnay 1er Cru Les Angles 2015

Burghound 'Louis Boillot's views are consistent with those of his wife Ghislaine Barthod.... I would add only that Boillot noted that he began the harvest on the 2nd of September in Volnay. As the scores and commentaries confirm, Boillot did fabulously well in 2015, indeed I would go so far as to say that they are among the best wines that I have ever seen from him. Moreover Beaujolais lovers should not ignore those wines either as all three are worth investigating.

The cool essence of red cherry, currant, floral and discreet wood nuances leads to detailed, punchy and precise medium-bodied flavors that possess a silky texture, all wrapped in a sappy and impressively long finale where a hint of cherry pit emerges. Good stuff. Drink 2025+'
