Latour-Giraud Pommard Cuvée Charles Carmen 2021

Pommard is a very old village and sits on the site of an ancient temple Christian, built by the Gauls and dedicated to Pomona, the goddess responsible for fruit protection. In the years 1005, the name of the village became "Polmarium" or "Polmarca" and underwent several subsequent changes before to become "Pommard". The Cuvée Carmen represents the blend of two vineyards located furthest the west of the village. The wine is characterized by aromas of blackberry and blueberry, accompanied by notes of currants. Its deep color is the reflection of a wine with robust and authentic character that will age pleasantly.

I very much like the texture of the equally polished and sleek medium-bodied flavors that also flash evident minerality on the tension-filled, youthfully austere and balanced finish that isn't quite as persistent.
