"A blend of approx 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Semillon.
As usual the Cabernet portion is crushed to press, soaked for 8-10 hours and fermented in stainless steel. The Semillon portion is 100% whole bunch pressed and both are fermented to dryness.
We aimed to make a slightly lighter style in both colour and weight than our previous few years, though equally delicious and undeniably Crawford River. Strawberries and redcurrant are found on the nose together with bright, red cherry. The wine has a small percentage of Semillon to add finesse, length and extra drinkability. A fine, saline quality is found throughout the palate, coupled with chalky texture and soft acidity. Screwcap." - Winemaker, Beilnda Thomson.
"Exotic character, spicy, clove-y and offering some generous fruit character in that mix. Fleshy texture is appealing and acidity is cooling and bright. Feels complex and entirely its own thing, reminding me of great barrel-aged rose wines of Vina Tondonio and Clos Cibonne, perhaps. Very serious rose here, but fresh." 95 Points, Mike Bennie, winefront.com.au
