A vibrant colour with a touch more than usual due to the sunshine. Lovely florals and lemon grass aromas. Mouth filling flavours of pear and lemon pith balancing the zesty acid backbone. The aromas and fruit weight belie the 10.8% alcohol and reconfirms that the Hunter Valley produces fruit at optimal ripeness at much lower sugar levels. A classic Hunter Valley Semillon to enjoy now or will age gracefully over many years.

Incorporating a small portion of Colorino, and old Tuscan variety traditionally used in the production of Chianti, this wine was created to capture the essence of that style. The wine was made for immediate enjoyment, but like Chianti Classico, can be aged for a number of years to create greater complexity. Enticing aromas of sour cherry and plum, with nuances of dried herb. Fine tannins and acidity combine with ripe fruit to produce a medium-full bodied palate with persistent flavour. … more

Producer Notes - "This wine has been made from select parcels of fruit sourced from the exceptional Warner Vineyard.
A rather appealing bouquet of baked beets, briary notes and roasted meat pan juices coupled with red to black cherries. It's sumptuous and rounded on the palate with a rolling combination of red fruits, spicy oak infusions underpinned by a tremendous layer of fine, savoury tannins. It certainly needs decanting to help open-up the bouquet, whilst also allowing the fruit to … more

Producer Notes - "This Cabernet comes from an excellent neighbouring site planted on ancient decomposed granite, loam and clay soils that are typical of the local area. These soils are ideal for wine quality as they provide good drainage and are high in mineral content without being too rich.
A comforting tone of magenta and black; violets, crushed leaf, cedar and polished leather with some crunchy red berry fruit. As it opens-up, a delicious core of bright red fruits corseted … more

'An elegant, cool-climate syrah - for once, you might agree with the winemaker's preference for the term syrah over shiraz, and what it means in the glass. The latter maintains a lively, enduring spiciness and charm. Here's a vintage that offers a wealth of the region's pepper and spice style with ripe, dark plums, black cherry fruits, toasty oak and an intriguing whisper of savoury, smoked meats. Rolls across the tongue aided by fine-cut tannins. Depth and grace. 95 points' … more

Grown on a south facing slope, the fruit is hand picked lightly crushed, and basket pressed. The heaviest solids are briefly settled out by gravity, then the juice transferred to barriques awaiting the start of fermentation. This occurs naturally, when it is ready, and takes as long as it takes.
Well balanced fruit will contain everything required to ferment to dryness. Naturally formed sulphides occur in some barrels - usually to a point which produces the beautiful nutty, matchstick characters … more
