"Intensely defined fruits with a rich texture and weight, accompanied by prominent yet refined tannins that seamlessly carry the flavor to the back of the palate.
85% of the fruit was gently de-stemmed and 15% as whole bunch. Approximately 28 days on skins and gently hand plunged. Gently pressed into 100% French oak, 25% new, no sulphur in barrel, malolactic fermentation naturally occurred in spring. A small amount of Sulphur was added prior to bottling, this vintage was filtered."

Producer: Derwent Estate
Region: Tasmania
Sub Region: Derwent Valley
Winery Notes "The wine is made from fruit sourced from vineyards in the Coal River (15%) and Derwent (75%) Valleys, along with the North West (8%) and Channel (2%) regions. It is predominantly whole berry (8% whole bunch), fermented with natural yeast, and held on skins for 16-21 days. The wine is then pressed directly to oak (6% new) for maturation and bottled unfined and unfiltered."

"Single-vineyard pinot noir from the Lower Derwent Valley. Vibrant ruby with aromas of exotically-spiced red cherry, raspberry and red plum fruits. Hints of dried mountain herbs, citrus blossom, char siu, sandalwood, dried cranberry, amaro, undergrowth and Peking duck. Lithe and sapid on the palate with a touch of sour cherry, pillowy tannins and a spicy, complex finish that flows on for a pleasing amount of time." - Halliday Wine … more
