This is the home estate of the Emmanuel Reynaud (nephew to Jacques Reynaud, third-generation owner of the legendary Château Rayas, that Emmanual has run since 1997). This is a relatively large estate of nearly 100 acres, Domaine des Tours fashions some remarkable value priced reds and whites.

Made in small volumes only in the best years, this comes from plots chosen on the high plateau of galets roules. It sees more oak and a higher proportion of new oak, but because of the concentration in the 2016 and 2017 vintages, it's not especially noticeable. These aren't big, extracted wines but wines that feel comfortable and balanced. The blend is 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, and the result is a top-notch effort, boasting explosive aromas of cherries, cocoa … more

An exceptionally strong effort, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape should eclipse the quality, longevity and overall character of the 2009. Its dense ruby/purple hue is followed by notes of cassis, kirsch, lavender, pepper and earth. Deep, full-bodied, textured, pure and long with sweet tannins as well as admirable focus and delineation, it will age gracefully for 15 or more years. 91-93 points. Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate

"Our white Châteauneuf-du-Pape is attractive when young within 2 or 3 years following the harvest, if you are looking for the wines to be fragrant, fruity and elegant. Lovers of more mature white wines should wait another five years or more until our wines develop their secondary aromas: honey,
white truffle and reminiscent of acacia." - From the producer.

Cotes du Rhone is usually a blend of grenache, mourvedre and shiraz which is spicy, medium-bodied and satisfying. This one certainly meets the criteria.

From vineyards located just across the river from Chateauneuf du Pape on sandy soils this wine shows the perfumed and supple side of Grenache grown on sandy soils. Kirsch, ground pepper, leather and garrigue all flow to a mid-weight wine that’s perfect for drinking over the coming 3-4 years.

60% Syrah, 40% Grenache.
Unusually for Cotes du Rhone this is majority Shiraz, rather than Grenache. As a result the Saint-Esprit's deep color has a dark, plum-like hue. The nose is classical Syrah, with berry fruit, violet and licorice. It has a full, rounded palate with delicate tannins. Excellent value.
