Kumeu River Village Chardonnay 2011

From a wonderful winery in the most unlikely location you get this lovely wine made by Master of Wine - Michael Brajkovich, MW. From vineyards around the Kumeu area, it is wild yeast fermented with 100% whole bunch pressing and malo. One third is barrel fermented.

It is particularly supple with a very fine texture that makes the wine delicious to drink. It features attractive lifted fruit aromas, along with a touch of nuttiness: the hint of hazelnut that is so typical of Chardonnay. The palate also shows a nice peachy ripeness along with a crisp flinty character that gives the wine a refreshing cleansing quality. This wine is perfect to drink with fish and shellfish.
