Winery Notes - "The Sommet Shiraz is from our high density block (1600mm row width/750mm vine spacings) at the top of the hill on the ridge line. We only made about 50 doz in 2017. It's not a big 'over the top style' shiraz, rather more fragrant and spicy, with the close planting providing good cross row shading, which keeps it slightly cooler."
"Fermented in small open fermenters with 10% whole bunches, 18 days on skins, pressed to seasoned 600L demi-muids and barriques, 8 months' maturation in oak. Sourced from the highest point of the Tellurian vineyard, this is a flagship shiraz of some stature. Looks and feels the Heathcote part, with astounding deep colour, natural balance, the blackest of berries and tilled red earth resonating throughout.
