"85/15% shiraz/malbec, with the latter from young vines on the Adelina estate vineyard. The shiraz comes from older vines and a nearby vineyard. This is savoury-as; sweet-earthiness, aniseed and green olive feature in dark plum on the crisper edge of ripeness. It swishes around with light, grippy tannins with a rosehip tea-like sweet-sourness and chew. A sprightly, medium-weight feel to the wine despite some serious concentration. Good drinking." 93 points - Mike Bennie, Halliday

"Tangy lemon zest, a little salt and floral perfume, lots of talc-like texture, perhaps a little coarse, but such a good delivery of zesty citrus peel and tangy bite, that it's very easy to like. Length is good. All the lime drizzled Riesling flavours here." 93 Points, Gary Walsh, winefront.com.au

This celebrated, limestone-rich, Barbaresco Cru runs along the southern belt of the appellation, near the town itself. The Rocca cellars are located just above this southeast-facing vineyard-one of the reasons the site has become synonymous with the name Albino Rocca. Ronchi is also the oldest and largest holding of the estate, extending to almost six hectares (three of Nebbiolo)-roughly a third of the total area of the Cru. With Rocca's Nebbiolo vines now aged between 50 and 70 years, this … more

Like most Rocca wines, the Nebbiolo d'Alba is from a single site-a parcel between Barolo and Barbaresco in the westernmost section of the Seno d'Elvio subzone. Aptly (and nowt to do with Tolkien), this area is known locally as Terra di Mezzo (middle earth). The Nebbiolo vines vary in age from 15 to 60 years, and the Roccas mature this wine for 12 months in large Austrian and German oak casks. Rocca's Nebbiolo d'Alba perennially offers outstanding depth and interest … more

Claríto ("the little clear one") is roughly 50-50 Garnacha and Viura. 3,500 kg of Garnacha at 14% abv comes from 80yo bush-vines from the Briones municipality, grown in the foothills between Oullar i and Hormilla. We're in the Najerilla Valley, heading south up into the pebbly chalk/red sand foothills under Sierra de la Demanda. These foothills are the traditional home of Clarete and the field blend vineyard that we've secured was purposefully planted for Clarete.
Claríto is a collaborative project … more

Petite Moussière is Mellot's entry-level Pinot, drawn from younger vines on the Saint-Doulchard marls of La Moussière. Although the name of the wine suggests something light and crunchy, even here there is a lovely plumpness of fruit and vinous depth. Saying that, Alphonse Mellot is aiming for a more open and approachable style here, so this fruit experiences more delicate maceration and shorter aging than for the Moussière proper.
