"A first for Lake's Folly, this year's Red is a blend of Shiraz 47%, Merlot 34%, and Petit Verdot 19%. Winery Notes "2018 was another strong Semillon vintage in the Hunter Valley. Dry, warm conditions that were similar to 2003 meant cropping levels were much smaller than average and produced wines with robust flavours and softer acids. Producer's note: "The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir combine well to create a sparkling wine that is light and fresh. The nose shows an abundance of citrus and strawberry characters, with a hint of yeasty complexity. The palate is fine and delicate with the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir working seamlessly together. This, along with the richness and complexity gained from the secondary ferment, produces a wonderfully balanced sparkling wine."

Vintage 2018 was another strong Semillon vintage in the Hunter Valley. Dry, warm conditions that were similar to 2003 meant cropping levels were much smaller than average and produced wines with robust flavours and softer acids. Vat 1 Semillon only ever comes from the oldest and best blocks. The vines are all dry grown, on their own roots, and date back to 1923.
Producer Notes "Delicate citrus aromas. The palate has a density and depth of fruit which only comes … more

A great balanced between fruit acid and oak hints at the quality of the wine and the vintage. The wine has the typical seamless Vat 47 palate with great fruit length and a clean acid finish.
Entirely hand picked with a proportion also being basket pressed. After cold settling the juice was partially fermented in stianless steel before being transferred into new, one and two year old French oak barriques where it was matured on yeast lees for 6 months … more
